Days of Rage : We'll sleep when we're dead (Review)

We'll Sleep When We're Dead is the first album for the Montreal punk rock band Days of Rage. After a good EP titled Disobey (2014) and a Demo (2011), the band gives us 12 raging tracks of street punk. Their sound is more oi! This time, they still have the hardcore traits, but the addition of the chants in the background and the melodies on the guitars, street anthems for the revolution. The album starts with The 1st Rock, introduced with audio clips from newscast reporting riots. That sets the mood for what is to come. That song is a fast one and it hits hard and establish the sound of the band, giving a large space for the vocals accompanied by the back vocals and it makes the chorus come out strong.

Fading Star and Seeing Us Rise are songs that are a bit slower, but the melodies from the guitars are amazing and adds variety to the album. Taking It Back and In The Underground are more traditional hardcore songs with the heavy bass lines and the fast beats, but the band is not following a recipe and surprises us with some speed change.Hit The Road is more of a fun punk song just fast and nice riffs with a cool guitar solo. They mix a lot of sounds and are bringing us an album that has a great variety in the styles. They are fast and raging, more street punk, anyone who enjoys bands like Out Of Order, King Cans or The Prowlers will enjoy their rough and engaging music, you will sing ooooOOOOooo with them.
