Impressions: PYRAMIDO -- Vatten

The sludge doom band from Sweden, Pyramido, has a new album coming out april 29th. Vatten has 5 new heavy and stoner songs with dark lyrics.

The bass lines are very melodic and enhance with a lot of distortions. The low tuning makes the songs heavier and stretch out. The songs are all over 7 minutes. The melodies of the guitar sand bass lit up the songs.

Stay or go / Live or die… the words are meant to be symbolic searching for philosophical answers. The songs felt powerful, dark and heavy, but also felt relaxed at the same time. I had the impression that the music was taking me for a slow march with weight on my back, but when the melodies kicked in I got the impression that after all the pain there was still hope somewhere.
