Article 15 : Waiting For The Fall (Review)

Article 15 is back with a brand new album, Waiting For The Fall. The anarcho punk band from Taos, New Mexico, has a lot of to say about tyranny and inequality in this world and especially about their own country, USA. Jeff the singer and guitar player, is a war vet and he is very vocal about the political state of the US. Article 15 is where he gets a chance to express himself, let the steam out. Their music is heavy this time, not the typical punk band, they have a bit of metal in the sound and I like it. Lou behind the drums and Boon at the bass are bringing some heavy and creative rhythms to the music. I must say that the sound of this album is amazing you hear everything very well and it hits hard. The distortion on the guitar of Jeff is strong and brings out the anger he has. The important part of the music here, are the lyrics. Fight against the tyranny, population is blinded with populism, war is cool when the media puts it on TV, racism doesn't make any sense, hatred, fear, all has to stop, but there are no moderate solutions to all this insane world, it will be a fight for freedom. The song Susan, a cover of Subhumans, is amazing just acoustic guitar and voice and some nice orchestration by Augustine Ortiz, Jr. Jeff told me that he had been playing this song for the past three years, he did a very good job with it and has a strong emotional delivery. Article 15 is a great anarcho punk band, I've been following them for a while and love all the messages they bring through their music. This time they sound heavier, I guess that is related to how they feel about the politics and the society. They have a great message for whoever just want to keep the power for themselves, Oh, Guillotine! Facebook Bandcamp
