Ezerath : Overture: The Heir Apparent (Review)

This is another great one man band from Montreal. The project is the brainchild of Jeremy Vocino-Montpetit. It took him three years to come up with the final version of the album. He had the time to do things properly and bring an excellent release. Hard to imagine the amount of work invested in the seven songs. It probably was also hard to let go of the tracks and decide he was done with them. The album is so heavy it is amazing. I love how hard it hits from the start and that there's a progression in the songs. Never the same riffs coming back. Lots of variations with the instruments. He can have a very heavy part that blends into a more atmospheric and quiet part. It never feels weird or out of place. The music has some symphonic sounds that just add to the already strong album. If you liked the progressive album from The Outborn or the latest symphonic release of Karkaos, both from Montreal. I believe that this album will fit with your taste of music. For me it is the weight of the music that did it. The story with the songs is a great idea, it reminded me of King, by Fleshgod Apocalypse. This album is great, hope that we will hear more from Ezerath soon again. Also great vocals from Felicia Weinmann. Facebook Bandcamp
