Laureate : Landmarks  (Review)

New album for the Montreal punk rock band, Laureate. The new songs are intense and I got hooked with the first song. This album is sure well mixed. You get to hear everything and the result is amazing. They had me with the first song Northern Dialects with the heavy bass and the mix of clear voices with choirs in the background. They keep it simple and it works well. The songs that follow are all great. They fit in the punk style of Against Me, and The Flatliners or closer to Montreal Prevenge. The songs stay punk rock, they sometimes go to the pop side.

What comes out is the bass (Erin) it is always present, the guitars (Giancarlo and Matt) come with some nice rhythms and some powerful chords that adds to the weight of the songs, some nice melodies on Western Medicine. The drum (Mike) is solid and brings good beats through the album. They have some nice and catchy music and obviously what comes out the most are the vocals of Giancarlo and Erin the exchange of male and female voices make the songs unique. Songs are about personal experience and the overall feeling is good, you feel that the band is having a good time. Here's a great new album from the Montreal punk rock band Laureate. Always fun and the great vocals make the songs pleasant to hear. I really enjoyed all the intensity of this new album. I feel this is a good first album for the band and they certainly took the time to do things properly. Good time with Landmarks, if you like pop punk rock music you should check it out.
