Ripcordz : (News)
Ripcordz is THE punk band from Montréal, the name has been around since 1980's with front man Paul Gott. They have done over 2500 shows, across Canada representing. With 15 releases (EP and LP). The band is consistent with their style, never went soft to try to seduce a bigger audience, they have songs about light topics like: Baseball, Poutine and Montreal. They also have more serious lyrics about dramatic events like: the shooting in Montreal-Nord, the riots in Quebec City, Cops Brutality and more.
I think they have set records that no punk band from Quebec will ever be able to beat, but they will remain accessible. you can always message Paul on the band's facebook, he will talk to you, if you have a fanzine ask him for an interview he will answer your questions, they just need to learn to do mail orders. They are for sure the underdogs of the scene, but even with their day jobs the guys will always be playing somewhere, they are always at the Fattal Fest or they have a Christmas show.
Alright enough with the bio, the news is out, they will release a Double Vinyls that includes 33 songs, some old songs and exclusive new tracks just for this release. Plus a booklet of coloured photos and a CD with their Christmas hits. The gatefold sleeves look amazing with the shiny silver look and it is titled The Vinyl Countdown. This gem will be available around July 1st, perfect for Canada day or moving day in Quebec. Can't wait to get it, hope they figure out the mail order thing :p
