Interview with Rob "The Baron" Miller about Tau Cross.

Rezine: How did you guys all met and decided to start the band?

Rob ‘The Baron’ Miller: had met Andy and Jon back in 2009 whilst on Tour with Amebix and contacted them when I was looking for people to work with on the songs. Away was in touch periodically over the years and popped up again just as this was coming together.

Rezine: Do you like the tag Super Band or you don't really care about that?

Rob: Not really no, it was to a good title for the band, but it was also a consideration of the label as to how best to differentiate what we were doing. Some people are OK with that kind of description, but it doesn’t really sit well.

Rezine: Do you feel that Tau Cross is in continuity with your other bands?

Rob: For me personally, yes! It is a direct continuation of the themes and aesthetic of Amebix.

Rezine: Did you guys set some guide lines before going forward with Tau Cross?

Rob: No, the songs were already in rough form, the idea was to allow each person to bring their interpretation of the ideas and see how that all worked, luckily that was the correct approach.

Rezine: Was it complicated to come up with the song since you don't all live in the same areas?

Rob: I had written most of the material in 2010-2012, so the ideas were already in place, next time around we have a lot more input from other people in the songs and structures.

Rezine: What inspires the lyrics for the songs?

Rob: Oh, Social issues, genocide, Magic, UTH, 16th century occultism.

Rezine: Were you surprised with all the positive response?

Rob: Yes, to be honest we did not expect this to be well received as it was initially difficult to find a label who would take us.

Rezine: Was there a theme to the album?

Rob: Not a solid Theme, but there is a sort of progression through various landscapes and topical matters.

Rezine: Is there a song that you prefer to play live?

Rob: We have rehearsed for 1 week so far and there are some strong songs, I think Lazarus and Midsummer are going to work really well live.

Rezine: Do you have songs that didn't make it in the album that we might hear live?

Rob: We have new songs that we will be playing live in March/April, we have another album under way at the moment.

Rezine: What’s to come with Tau Cross?

Rob: More music, rare live performances, a continuous exploration of our inner World.
