Deity : s/t (Review)

Deity is a project that finally sees the day after many years the guys gets to do the album they have been wanting to do. Danny Alessandro and John Massey, both guitarists and vocalists, have worked in many different death metal bands, they were tired of working on projects that didn't feel true to them, that's when they went on to finish the first self titled album of Deity. They are helped by drummer Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy) and bassist Flo Ravet (ex-Nephelium).

This is a great death metal album, that's all all the stuff you look for into that genre.if the guys felt like making an album that they would love, on my side in find an album that i can enjoy. You feel that the duo is doing what they do and that they have a lot of experience. They are very talented guitar players you get to hear a large amount of skilled solos.

The vocals are great you have two styles the more traditional growl and the deep growl that sounds like some grind core bands.. the album has a total of eight long songs. Three of the are instrumental, that's where the guys are showing some of their best guitar solos. If you are a fan of technical prowess that might fill your needs, it can be a bit much for my liking, but that's about it. The album is solid, love the songs and i feel that's my kind of death metal.

The guys took their time with the first 8 songs of Deity, but now that they got to break the ice I hope to hear more form the band they are great and heavy. If you are a fan of Death, Emperor or Suffocation you have to check it out. Great job from the Toronto duo, of Deity, can't wait to hear what's next and maybe catch them on tour. The album comes out June 2nd, go check out the first single to get an idea of what they can do.
